Design and construct of new pathways Pedestrian; Bicycle Mar 2022 $746,000 $746,000
The City proposes to use the TIB grant funds to construct a sidewalk on Angle Lane between Hipkins and Elwood to connect pedestrians and cyclists to Fort Steilacoom Park. Further, the funds will be used to construct a shared use path within the ROW of Elwood Road SW between Angle Lane and 87th ST SW then sidewalk on one side of 87th to the new sidewalks along Steilacoom Blvd. This completes the non-motorized pathways allowing for easier access to Fort Steilacoom Park as well as a route for cyclists to use with less traffic. The total project cost is estimated at $823,000 and the City is committed to funding the gap.
