Project Description

The preferred alternative for the Lund Ave. road segment between Harris and Chase is two lanes with raised median, bike lane, and sidewalk. Current design is a separated (landscape buffer) sidewalk and bike lane adjacent to the travel lane however, the County is still considering separating and buffering the bike lane adjacent to the sidewalk. The two-lane roadway with median control will significantly improve safety by eliminating left turns and support anticipated growth in traffic. The buffered sidewalk and bike lane will provide safe pedestrian and bike connectivity within the corridor to the South Kitsap Regional Park, schools, and commercial areas.
