Project Description

'For more than two decades, Pierce County has diligently improved and expanded the Canyon Rd. E. Freight Corridor to meet regional capacity demands. During this period, TIB has graciously partnered with the County to invest nearly $25 million in the corridor (see Att. M), and Pierce County's UAP grant proposal brings that effort closer to completion. Pierce County will widen the existing roadway between 84th St. E. and 72nd St. E. to a five-lane facility consisting of four through-lanes and a two-way-left-turn lane. Both sides of the road will include paved shoulders and concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk. The project will also provide roadway illumination and new traffic signals with fiber optic interconnect for the intersections at 72nd St. E. and 80th St. E.'
